Here, at the Ann Gregory School of Motoring, I have been providing the very best in driver training since 1981. During this time I have successfully taught people of all ages and backgrounds to pass the driving test, using a dual controlled manual car and usually at their first attempt. I fully understand the concept of client satisfaction and clients will receive one to one driver training with a programme designed to make them a safe & confident driver.
I am fully qualified to one of the highest Driving Standards Agency qualifications - Grade 5. The driver training I provide is of a very high standard as I believe this is a ‘skill for life’ and will take you up to the standard required to pass the driving test and beyond.

A Little Bit about Me
Hi, my name is Ann Gregory and I have been a Driving Instructor since 1981. I am married with 2 sons, a step daughter and step son, all of whom I taught to drive.
I trained to be a Driving Instructor in 1981 with my father, he had started his own Driving School having retired from the Surrey Police Force where he had worked in the Traffic Dept and held an A1 Police driving certificate. I passed my Instructor exams and became fully qualified in March 1982 and started my own driving school. Just before my father retired he and I joined the IAM and he helped me to pass the IAM test for cars.
In 2001, my husband Phil and I decided to learn to ride a motorcycle, we obtained our CBT certificates in the September and then went on to pass the motorcycle test in March 2002. We both also took and passed the IAM motorcycle test in November 2005. We have also been on the committee of our local motorcycle club since July 2002.
I am also a Driver Trainer for East Sussex County Council delivering ‘Speed Awareness’ training since June 2008, for those people who have been caught speeding and offered the course by the Police instead of a Fine and Points on their driving licence.
A Little Bit about Instructors
To become a driving instructor is quite hard and only about 10% of those who try ever go on to qualify. So if your thinking of choosing this as a career be aware that the training is hard and may cost you around £3000.00, with no guarantee of success.
Once qualified, Instructors are then able to join the register of Approved Driving Instructors (ADI). To stay on the register Instructors have to take regular "check tests" where their standard of tuition is examined whilst conducting a ‘live’ driving lesson. This is where Instructors get their grades from. The grading system works from 1 - 6, 1 being the lowest and 6 the highest.
Grade 1/2/3 =Substandard
Grade 4 =Competent
Grade 5=Very Good
Grade 6=Excellent
